It is not uncommon for a tooth to exhibit a dull ache or be sensitive to biting pressure immediately after receiving root canal therapy. This sensitivity should subside within one week.

If your physician gave you any prescriptions, start taking it immediately as directed. Immediately stop using any drug that causes stomach upset or allergic reactions (including hives, rash, facial swelling, asthma or wheezing). Seek immediate medical attention if complications arise.

Whenever possible, try to chew on the opposite side from the tooth we have just treated until you have a permanent filling or crown. Please avoid chewing gum, caramels, or other sticky, soft candy which could dislodge the temporary material or fracture your tooth.

We will send a record of your treatment including radiographs to your general dentist.  You must visit your general dentist for final restoration since our office completes only the root canal portion of your dental care.
